There are two ways to subscribe to the Dixieland Jazz Mailing List.
Strongly recommended is to visit the list's info website at:
http://ml.islandnet.com/mailman/listinfo/dixielandjazz
Alternatively, you may subscribe to the Dixieland Jazz Mailing List, by sending an email message to:
dixielandjazz-request@ml.islandnet.com
with the subject "subscribe" or, to receive a daily email which batches all submissions for that day into a single email "subscribe digest".
You may leave the body of the message blank.
Note that when subscribing either by email or via the web page, a confirmation email will be sent to you, to which you must respond. This prevents people unknown to you (or worse, yet, known to you in a bad way) from subscribing you without permission.
Note: If your server won't accept a message that has a blank text, try just putting 1 space or perhaps a couple of dashes in it.
To unsubscribe from the mailing list, follow the same procedure as to
subscribe above, but change the word "subscribe" to "unsubscribe".
You may subscribe, unsubscribe, and manage many other options about your subscription by visiting the list's info page, as noted above.
Keep in mind that if your email address is unavailable for 4 consecutive deliveries, that your address will be automatically removed from the mailing list. This is to prevent "bounced" mail being returned (the equivalent of "return to sender, address unknown"). Should this happen, merely resubscribe to the list following the instructions above.
If your email address changes, it's possible that you would receive the DJML, but not be able to post messages. If this happens, you'll need to unsubscribe your old email address, and subscribe your new one. If you can't unsubscribe your old address for any reason, contact the list administrator (email link below).
If you're interested in purchasing music from other DJML members who have bands all around the world, or if you're interested in having your band's CDs listed, check out the Dixieland CD Source page. If you're interested in purchasing more commercial Dixieland Music (Louis Armstrong, Firehouse Five Plus Two, etc.) then follow the link to CD Now.
This list is unmoderated and uncensored (meaning that any mail you send to the list goes to all participants without being reviewed) so please adhere to the accepted norm of Email etiquette. If you're new to mailing lists, this includes:
