Kam Su Lim and Martin Rudden finish as Number 1 at the Tanglin Club Open
Report from Tanglin Club Open: Last week saw the culmination of the SLTA Open Tennis Season for 2002.
Held on the fast-paced hardcourts at The Tanglin Club, the tournament was hampered by adverse weather conditions
but event organizers managed to complete the draw on a timely basis.
The number 1 seeds for doubles, Kam Su Lim and Martin Rudden advanced through to the final but were deprived
of their third victory of the season by Tennis Professionals Alan Ille and Steven Koon.
Ille and Koon played solid tennis and deserved the mantle of tournament champions.
The finals appearance however, ensured the year end No. 1 position for Lim and Rudden who will head
into the 2003 season looking to retain the crown for the second year running.
The singles was won by Dutch import Frans Grimbergen (7-6, 3-6, 7-5) in a thrilling 3 set match with
Danish tennis player Kennith Baker.
