  • 2010 - Two trains collide in West Bengal, India, killing at least 100, injuring 145. The Calcutta-Mumbai passenger train derailed, throwing five of its carriages into the path of an oncoming goods train.

  • 2021 - In the United Kingdom, the Royal Mail receives the final design entries for a proposed set of postage stamps designed by children, to honor COVID workers. The stamp designs were submitted in a design contest by UK children ages 4 through 14. The Royal Mail received 606,049 entries, breaking the Guiness world record for largest postage stamp design competition.
