- 1942 - Disney delivers the 16-mm film South of the Border with Disney to the Coordinator of Inter-American Affairs.
- 1951 - The Goofy film No Smoking is released.
- 1969 - The NBC TV network airs The Wonderful World of Disney show, featuring The Secrets of the Pirate's Inn, part one.
- 1980 - The NBC TV network airs the Disney's Wonderful World show, entitled Mouseketeer Reunion, celebrating the 25th anniversary of The Mickey Mouse Club TV show.
- 1986 - The ABC TV network airs The Disney Sunday Movie, entitled Thanksgiving Promise.
- 1987 - Mongolia issues eleven postage stamps depicting scenes from The Brave Little Toaster and The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County.
- 1988 - In Disneyland, the Bear Country area is renamed Critter Country.
- 1988 - The Crocodile Mercantile shop opens in Critter Country at Disneyland. Former name was Ursus H. Bear's Wilderness Outpost.
- 1989 - The Delizie Italiane shop opens in the Italy pavilion in World Showcase in EPCOT Center at Walt Disney World. Former name was Arcata d'Antigiani.
- 1994 - The Spaceship Earth attraction in EPCOT Center reopens after a renovation, with narration by Jeremy Irons.
- 1994 - Buena Vista Pictures releases the Hollywood Pictures / Caravan Pictures live-action feature film A Low Down Dirty Shame to theaters in the US.
- 1998 - Disney and FTD begin offering "Disney Flowers" flower delivery service initiated via the disney.com Web site. Vases can be shaped like, or include pictures of, Disney cartoon characters.
- 1998 - The Kona Café restaurant opens in the Great Ceremonial House of the Polynesian Village Resort of Walt Disney World. Formerly the Coral Isle Cafe.
- 1999 - Disney releases the film Lady and the Tramp on DVD.
- 1999 - Disney releases the film Peter Pan on DVD.
- 1999 - Disney releases the film Simba's Pride on DVD.
- 2000 - In New York City, Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is held. A new Mickey Mouse balloon debuts, wearing the Mouseketeer bandleader outfit and carrying a baton. The balloon is 66 feet long, 40 feet high, and 35 feet wide.
- 2003 - Disney premieres the live-action feature film The Haunted Mansion at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, California.
- 1983 - The film Terms of Endearment is released to theaters in the US. Actor Jack Nicholson's character drives a 1978 Silver Anniversary T-Top Corvette into the ocean with his feet.
- 1939 - (evening) British armed merchant cruiser Rawalpindi sights the German battlecruisers Scharnhorst and Gneisenau between the Faeroe Islands and Iceland. They battle, and the Scharnhorst sinks the Rawalpindi.
- 1940 - Romania joins the Tripartite Pact.
- 1942 - Soviet forces complete encircling German forces in Stalingrad, holding 250,000 Germans and Romanians in 22 divisions in a 25 by 30 mile oval.
- 1943 - (evening) British bombers again attack Berlin, Germany, doing great damage. In this and the past night, over 30 major industrial complexes are destroyed, 9,000 people are killed or injured, and 200,000 are made homeless.
- 1944 - French troops capture Strasbourg.
- 1944 - British Bomber Command makes an air raid on the Nordstern synthetic oil plant at Gelsenkirchen, Germany, using G-H to aid in targeting.
- 1944 - To date, about 200 V-2 rockets have landed in England, about 100 in the London Region, killing about 500.
- 1944 - (1500 hours) In Canada, an Order-in-council approved by the governor-general is read in the House of Commons, imposing conscription of 16,000 soldiers for overseas duty.
- 1974 - France issues a postage stamp marking the 30th anniversary of liberation, depicting the Order of the French Resistance medal.
- 1982 - Eric Olofson scores a world record 500,774 on the Alpine Ski arcade game.
- 1991 - Square releases the Final Fantasy II video game for the Super NES in the US. This is the same game as Final Fantasy IV in Japan.
- 1993 - Sega releases the Sonic the Hedgehog Chaos video game for the Game Gear in the US.
- 2001 - Sega ships the final Dreamcast systems to North American retailers.
- 2003 - The Fox Broadcasting Company airs The Simpsons TV show in the US. Two children play a home video game system and game called "Hockey Dad".
- 2004 - The American National Institute on Media and the Family releases its 9th MediaWise Video Game Report Card on the video-game industry's self-policing policies: ESRB Ratings Accuracy: B-, Ratings Education: C-, Retailers' Policy and Employee Training: B, Retailers' Enforcement: D, Screen time related to overweight: F.
- 2010 - Namco Bandai releases the Pac-Man Championship Edition DX video game for the PlayStation 3 in the US.
- 1981 - A & W Restaurants transfers ownership of the A & W logo (oval double-boomerang with A & W) to United Brands Company. United Brands Company then transfers ownership to A & W Beverages.
- 1793 - Robert Scot is officially made chief engraver of the Mint.
- 1921 - The Commission of Fine Arts holds a limited design competition among eight sculptors for a new circulating "Peace Dollar" coin.
- 1998 - The US Mint requests public comments on suggested designs for obverse and reverse of dollar coin to replace Susan Anthony design.
- 2005 - The US Mint unveils designs for 2006 State quarter dollars for Nevada, Nebraska, Colorado, North Dakota, and South Dakota.
