Universal Pictures releases the film Bring It On to theaters in the USA. The video game Twisted Metal is played on a PlayStation.

First Look Pictures shows the film Dead Babies at the Bergen International Film Festival in Norway. The game Perfect Dark is show on the Nintendo 64, but with a PlayStation 2 controller.

November 19, 2000

The Fox Broadcasting Company airs The Simpsons TV show in the USA. An advertisement within the show is for a "GameStation 256", with a video game system resembling the Sony PlayStation, with a joystick that holds to a table by suction cups. A child then throws an "obsolete" GameStation 252 into the fireplace.
