is a concept
expressed as 'homes
friendly to humans
and other nature'
Such homes reflect quality of life
encouraging people to take the time
to enjoy their surroundings.
They are as unique as the individual
and satisfy the basic need within us
all - an environment conducive to
feeling good about ourselves.
These homes are limitless in their
scope and potential and could involve
a few changes to a major overhaul.
They foster self-sufficiency, an "I
can do that" attitude. They promote
a way of seeing things.
The development of Natural Habitat
Houses, either new or renewed, is
environmentally beneficial,
aesthetically pleasing and
economically worthwhile.
It's an idea whose time has come as people cope
with incredible input of information in their
lives, are dealing with both the negative and
positive aspects of 'leisure', and crave 'time
to smell the roses.'
Karen, originator of the term Natural Habitat Houses, has been living this concept for thirty years, defining it, observing the response to it, marvelling at its import and impact. A homemaker, journalist, artist, with a background in psychology, she is now ready to not only give voice to the adventure but to work with others to instigate the reality on a large scale.
